    BMW 2800 CS named Rusty

One day, I was driving down Colfax Ave in Denver. When I spotted a white BMW coupe sitting at the local Porsche/Audi dealer. I had always wanted a coupe since first laying eyes on one in the early ’70’s. But they had always been out of reach. I pulled in and found a Salesmen who informed me that it had just been traded in and he knew nothing about the car.  I took a quick look.  It was pretty straight and asked to drive it.  It drove out just fine with that big 6 and all kinds of torque.  I had to have it!! What’s the price I asked.  The salesmen looked it up—$3295.  I almost went into shock.  How could it be this cheap. I told him to sign me up and I  gave him a credit card on the spot.  This whole thing took no more than 1/2 hour and I was off with my “new” old BMW 2800 CS.  I had had several BMW’s by this time, but was not really familiar with the coupe and it’s issues.  When I got home, I was messing around with the car-looking here and there when I noticed that the glove box had about 2″ of dirt in it.  How in the world did this get there??  This was the beginning of the end, but the story has a happy ending.   More later……..
