Latest Version M cars
It’s been a couple of years back, but a friend and I test dove the current M5 nd M6 at the local dealer. We started with the M5. The salesman felt it was necessary for us to have some instruction, so he took us around the block at about Mach1 trying to explain to us all the nuances of the car. First of all, I didn’t know a car company could make an auto transmission this complicated. Really- you need several hours of instruction on how to drive the car properly. In any case, he let us take off by ourselves down Colorado Boulevard in Denver. Wow, what a crazy guy to let us have a shot at this car. We were no more than a couple of blocks down the road before I turned to my friend and said” I think this thing is adjusted to some kind of sport setting” as the thing was about to knock our fillings out. I called the salesman from the car to get instructions from him on how to adjust the suspension. He said, “Oh, no need. It was already on the softest session”. Man, the thing is set up for a race track. Anyway, we get it out of the interstate and kick it in the pants. What a rocket ship! Especially if you hit the super thruster button kicking in an extra 50 hp. We got it back to the dealer in one piece, but I have to say unless you live somewhere where there are no cops, this is a go-to-jail car. Hard to believe that someone would buy one and just drive it around town. We then jumped into the M6 and the experience was the same. Maybe I’m just turning into an old fart, but I think I’ll stick with my 540i with a mere 290 hp. That way, I can stay out of jail.
