Memories of My Step Dad’s BMW Collection
My step dad was, and is, a BMW guy. Growing up, I remember we had a garage full of BMW’s and old Ferraris. He kept them all in mint condition and he would assiduously wash each one of them each weekend. I can still remember the smell of the old ones, that gasoline and oil smell, mixed with the leather conditioner. He had a golf yellow 2002 Tii that was the coolest car. It had the round tail lights and black interior. He also had a Bavaria that was a baby blue. I remember as a kid thinking that the coolest part about the car was the fact that the gas tank was hidden behind the rear license plate. You had to pull the plate down to fill it up, which always appealed to me James Bond sensibilities. He had a dozen others or so throughout the years. Great cars and great memories of those cars.
