My first BMW road trip.
We bought our first BMW last year, a 2007 X3 3.0si. It’s a tale of two rides. One is the very enjoyable one that you drive everyday. The 260 horse six is a dream to listen to as it takes us effortlessly around town. The other is the one that just screams down the road over eighty. We took our X3 from Denver up to the Bad Lands last month. We found highway 71 between Crawford, NE and Hot Springs, SD. About 80 miles of open empty road. We passed less than 5 cars in both directions. It is a very smooth two laner. We comfortably cruised at 100. Slowed down to 80 on the corners. At one point my wife asked, “how fast are we going”? “A hundred and twenty”, I replied. “Doesn’t feel like it”, she replied.
Can’t wait to go back.

It sounds like the X3 is more of a sports car than a truck. That’s a good thing. It’s just like BMW to keep everything they do still fun to drive. The ultimate driving experience as they say.
