My first couple days in my 1970 BMW 2002

I finally bought my 2002 after years of waiting, It is my daily driver and I have many stories about her so far but this one is my favorite and really shows the effect that this car has on people.. I was living in Los Angeles and living in Westwood.
I went to the local drug store to get some stuff for the house, went inside and picked up a few things… When I came out there was a Bentley Continental GT parked next to my car and when I went to get into my car the door of the Bentley quickly opened and a women of 55 to 60 years of age stepped out.
She asked me in a thick Persian accent if that was my car. I got a little nervous thinking something was wrong, but the lady asked me if she could sit in it…. Turns out it was her first car that her father bought for her and she has not sat in one since 1973. Who was I to argue. She was really happy and could only tell me good things about the car. She sat inside the car for a couple minutes asking me various things about the car and told me about the one she had. She wished me the best of luck with it. And told me to call her if I ever want to sell it. Ha she was kidding! Wow it speaks volumes when someone with a $300k twin-turbocharged W12 engine, producing 552 hp wants to make a big deal of your old 2002… I never did get to sit in that Bentley though…

I have had a bunch of 2002’s. I’ve never had one that I didn’t like. The last one was a ‘72 tii and I bleive it was my favorite. It happened to be Golf yellow, so clearly it got noticed regularly. I’ve not had one for about 10 years, so made it’s time to revisit.
